Our life in the abbey
We are Cistercians, commonly known as Trappists.
As a community of brothers we answer God’s call with our lives, according to the Rule of Benedict.
We lead an enclosed existence of prayer, work and reading of the Bible, in an atmosphere of silence, simplicity and fellowship.
Our modest way of life opens windows onto God and onto people. The happiness of what is simple.
You will notice it, and with all respect: Trappist is more than beer.
Prayer in the abbey
Our common life of prayer follows a fixed order of the day, set and coloured by the liturgical year.
Guests in the abbey
Monasteries and abbeys have always been places where God and people can find one another.
For us monks, welcoming guests is a sacred duty. Benedict asks us to receive visitors with an open heart, as Christ himself.
Whoever is a guest here may know himself welcome and is carried by our community.
